Our consultancy activities are designed to support clients in solving complex organisational problems. The issues we deal with are generally associated with managing change — whether that be organisational change in response to technology, or technological change in response to the needs of the organisation.
We see consultancy as closely related to research: in both cases, problems cannot be resolved without truly understanding the context, the stakeholders and their motivations, the ultimate goals desired and existing and related work undertaken by others. Whilst organisations and corporations seeking consultancy want a faster and more focused response than those participating in research projects, we continue to seek associations between the problems we solve in both realms.
Our close links with the academic sector also enable us to structure consulting projects in a variety of ways to suit the needs of the individual client: either as classic consultancy, where one or more members of our team undertake the work over a relatively short time period; or as a research consultancy, where we incorporate research students into the solution process.
